Don’t miss these upcoming Midday Oasis performances, especially if you love the string instruments! On March 20, The Phoenix Quartet [Katrina Rafferty* (Violin. The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), Damara Lomdaridze* (Viola. The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), Shelagh Heath (Cello. City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong), Jacqueline Leung (Piano)] will bring you a rarely performed piece for audience in Hong Kong: The Piano Quartet in A Major, Op. 1 by Finnish composer Helvi Leiviskä. On March 27, James Cuddeford^, Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, will perform movements from Bach’s Partita No. 3 in E Major for Solo Violin, BWV 1006. James will also perform Lullaby for Leo (2018), a work he composed for his son. A sought-after teacher at the Music Department of CUHK, he will perform selection from Bartok’s “44 Duos for 2 Violins, Sz.98”  with his students Marco Ng (Violin) & Eunice Tai (Violin).
