Wishing you a wonderful year ahead with lots of joy, laughter and fine music! We will resume our Midday Oasis concerts from next Monday. On January 9, players from Medical Musicians HK, under the direction of Dr. Arthur Mak (Assistant Dean, Faculty of Medicine. Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry), will bring you classics including Handel-Halvorsen's Passacaglia for Violin and Viola, as well as movements from Brahms' Cello Sonata No.1 in E minor, Op. 38 & Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115. On January 16, percussion students Sampson Keung, Sam Lau, Arthur Lo & Fiona Ngan from the Music Department will join renowned percussionist & music educator Sophia Woo# and perform stunning compositions of our time. Program includes “Memento” for Vibraphone & Marimba by the young and talented composer Calvin Chiu, John Cage’s Living Room Music for unspecified instruments, and Sambamarimba Blues by the Brazilian composer Ney Rosauro.
